PHP is a server-side scripting language designed for web development but also used as a general-purpose programming language. Originally created by Rasmus Lerdorf in 1994, the reference implementation of PHP (powered by the Zend Engine) is now produced by The PHP Group. While PHP originally stood for Personal Home Page, it now stands for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, which is a recursive backronym.
PHP is probably the most popular scripting language on the web. It is used to create dynamic web pages. With PHP, you can do things like create username and password login pages, analyze details from a form, create forums, picture galleries, surveys, and a whole lot more.

Facebook and WordPress are two popular website’s that were developed with PHP. PHP is preferred among users because it is easy to read and understand. Many programming languages are complex and intimidating to new users while PHP is organized, clean, and fluent.

We highly recommend that you are both familiar and solid in your knowledge of HTML before starting to learn PHP. In addition to this, we also recommend that you have a basic understanding of CSS and JavaScript to maximize your effectiveness in PHP.
