How to Install Open Suse Linux From Windows With a USB Drive Or Stick

The tutorial is on installing Suse Linux by using a USB drive if you do not have CD drive or for other reasons you went to install it from USB drive. Let's take it that you have downloaded a openSuse.iso file you want to install using stick.

Steps for installation

Step 1:
Extract the iso file [ex-10.3 x86_64 or i386 to the usb drive using power iso or [7-zip archiver] which you are going to use as installation media. Let's say to E drive ie E: is your usd drive.

Step 2:
After extracting all files of open Suse to the drive now move E: boot x86_64 loader * or E: boot i386 loader * to E:

Step 3:
Look for the file isolinux.bin and delete it (Delete E: isolinux.bin).

Step 4:
Now look for the file E: isolinux.cfg and rename it to E: syslinux.cfg.

Step 5:
Download syslinux-.zip from [kernel.org]

Step 6:
After the download is complete extract syslinux-.zip to c: syslinux.

Step 7:
Now open cmd and go to the location of syslinux.Like CD to c: syslinux win32 directory in a cmd prompt

Step 8: after you are in the location / win32 in cmd run the following command: syslinux -ma E:
(Remember E: is your USB drive it could be else depending upon system to system.)

NOTE: When you start the install it will tell you the repository is not found. simply go to "Start installation or Update" and then choose Hard Disc (local drive), once you have done this select your USB drive (if you do not know look at the sizes), and when it asks you where it is in the drive just enter "/."
